Becker è una sit-com statunitense andata in onda dal 2 novembre 1998 al 28 gennaio 2004.
Il protagonista è il talentuoso dottor John Becker, interpretato dal protagonista di Cheers, Ted Danson, dal carattere insopportabile ma dall'animo generoso. Proprio a causa del suo carattere, i rapporti con gli amici e i collaboratori sono sempre tempestosi. John Becker è un misantropo, pessimista ed iroso ma dal grande senso dell'umorismo e, paradossalmente, è amato da tutti per la sua innata generosità. Le sue collaboratrici sono la preziosissima infermiera Margaret (Hattie Winston) e la segretaria Linda (Shawnee Smith), un po' svampita e caotica ma simpatica. I suoi pochi amici sono Reggie, proprietaria di una tavola calda, interpretata da Terry Farrell (Star Trek Deep Space Nine); Jake (Alex Desert, un musicista molto noto negli Usa), non vedente che gestisce un'edicola all'interno della tavola calda di Reggie; lo strampalato Bob (Saverio Guerra) innamorato, non ricambiato, di Reggie che parla di se sempre in terza persona.
